To start off - sorry to post this where folks are talkin' about food!
Anyone else noticing all the rats around McKinney? I was sitting in my truck the other night at Ridge and Eldorado and saw a few of them scurrying through the freshly planted pansy beds. I've been seeing them in our alley and I have a couple nesting in my yard.
I have baited my yard and the bait always dissappears in a couple of days. I've found a couple of dead rats in the yard this summer and got a whiff of one or two I didn't see. I haven't found any evidence of them in the garage or the house yet, but I am concerned about them making their way inside when it gets cold.
Is anyone else having/had similar experiences and what did you do to get rid of them? My yard is directly across from the storm drain and I can't think of anyway to control what goes in and comes out.
While I'm at it... I need to appologize to the folks at Pat Lobb. I had some service done on my truck last winter. I had a ribbon wire replaced ($250). When they explained to me that it wasn't under warranty because the ribbon was chewed up by a rat, I didn't believe the damage was done in my driveway and insisted it must have been like that when they sold it to me. Sorry guys.
