Is anyone surprised by the latest news? I'm referring to the shooting that took place earlier this fall in McKinney. A man shot at someone who had broke into his home. Shortly thereafter, in the same neighborhood, the police were called because a 13 year old boy had been reportedly shot at his bus stop. Rodney wrote about the incident when it happened (http://mckinneynews.net/news.php?nid=10242&cat=2).

The news reported this morning that the 13 year old shot was indeed the person who had broken into the man's house. I'm sure the police have to make sure they have all their ducks in a row, but this just screamed no brainer to the rest of us. Not to make light of the situation as I'm sure the parents are out of their mind with worry over their son's behavior as is the man who shot at an intruder, let alone a teenager. Thankfully the boy will be okay and he's young enough to have the chance to learn from this huge mistake.

I hope he takes this lesson seriously. Next time he might not be so lucky.

You are so right, Bobette! I hope he has learned his lesson. Next time he might end up in the morgue. :(

What do you mean Bobbette? Are you saying the boy deserved to be shot?

Good God Jane, no I didn't say that. I didn't even allude to that. I'm stunned you came up with that impression. He's **** lucky the homeowner didn't kill him. My point is that while the police were getting their facts it was pretty apparent that it was too much of a coincidence that this kid was reportedly shot at the bus stop within minutes of an intruder being shot inside someone's home.

Sorry Bobette. I didn't mean to offend. In answer to your question, then, I agree it was obvious that there was only one shooting incident (not two).

I will say it. hope the kid did learn his lesson because if he did not or learned the wrong lesson, then the homeowner will be the next one shot if this kid breaks into another home. And for the record not just this kid but anyone that thinks they can break into a home and get away with it.
