I was wondering if any of you have had dealings with Citicorp or more specifically Home Depot charge accounts. We have a HD card we used to have new flooring installed on a house we were selling. We've been making our payments on time, no problems. Then in March we made our payment 4 days late. Not only did they charge us a late fee, which I would expect, but they also doubled our interest rate! We've never been late until March and we've had the account for two years. The doubled rate is indicated as being their "Default" rate. We're hardly in default, but I gotta tell ya, if this keeps up we very well could be!

If you have had issues such as this, let me know how you handled it. If you contacted those greedy bastards, what approach did you use and did it work?

Thanks!

Yes, this is a very unethical business practice that have gotten consumers in trouble. Obama is working to pass law againts this type of practice among banks and Credit Card Companies..
You can call in and often negotiate your rate down further. Thats what I would do..

Thanks for the info. We're going to write a letter to them. We read the small print and it states that by trying to accomplish something over the phone doesn't mean they will honor the agreement. Nice huh? We also filed a complaint through Consumer Affairs. They're going to post our complaint which if nothing else, will inform other card holders.

I found a few cars there that Im interested in, but they seem very low priced compared to most others. Has anyone dealt with them that can vouch for their service being good/bad/anything?
Thanks
